Random (III)
Woke up in my slippers—
They’d filed for divorce.
The coffee staged a mutiny
And joined a Trojan horse.
My mirror gave a shrug today,
Then promptly changed its name.
It says it’s now “Reflector Fred,”
And won’t play vanity’s game.
The cat composed a symphony,
The goldfish took the lead,
The couch began to levitate
And quote some Oscar Wilde with speed.
So here I am, just drifting
Through this topsy-curvy script—
My thoughts wear polka-dotted hats
And dance like they’ve been whipped.
