A Fresh New Day
Hey darkness, I have news for you
The night has passed and you are through
Both north and south now frame the east
Beckons dawn and hope of peace
The bluing of the sky begins
Around the curve a golden tinge
A faint pink cloud peels back night's cloak
Faithful promise swells good folk.
For self I shall not wish today
But rather I should kneel and pray
Blessings are the gift of He
Who sends all light and warmth to thee.
Rise oh orb of regal glow
Upon the Earth His love bestow
For days grow long and nights grow small
And I love sunrise best of all.
